WJ Group

The Brief
WJ Group are the UK’s leading specialist road marking business. They operate on a national basis with a team of over 500 employees providing road markings and specialist highway products and services. The company wanted to communicate the work they had undertaken in understanding their carbon use and to tell the story of what they were doing to reach Net Zero.  The team knew they needed to tell this story in an engaging and visual way and approached Ark Media with their brief.

The Result

Ark Media produced the film which starts by outlining the devastating impact that global warming is having on the world. The film explains how WJ Group went about understanding how their carbon emissions are produced, being the first in the sector to develop a Cradle to Gate Life Cycle Assessment Model independently verified by Lucideon to PAS 2050:2011 and ISO14067 (2018).

The video goes on to describe what WJ Group are doing to minimize their carbon emissions and how they are also helping to remove as much carbon as they emit.  WJ has purchased over 900 acres of land at the head of the Glenshee in the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland, with plans for a scheme to plant over half a million trees. This will sequester huge amounts of CO2 over the next 40 years, and also help restore biodiversity and bring ecological benefits to the area.

Here is the final video:

Craig Potts, Digital Marketing Manager at WJ Group says “It was great to work with the team at Ark, their process from storyboarding to concept and production really demonstrated their wealth of knowledge and resources. Ark understood what and how we were trying to communicate.  Already we have received fantastic feedback from staff and stakeholders who can now see the amount of work that has and will continue to go into our net zero journey”.

Liniar is the fastest-growing brand of PVCu products designed for the fenestration and construction markets in the UK. Manufacturing takes place at a state-of-the-art facility in Derbyshire, where a dynamic team and a high degree of ongoing investment results in an industry leading range of PVCu windows, doors, conservatories, fencing, decking, piling and building products.

Our brief:

The marketing team at Liniar wanted to create video assets to support their ‘Colours’ campaign to demonstrate the vast array of colour options that are available to customers when selecting Liniar products.

The Result:

The brand already has a talented inhouse videographer so we were able to work with existing live action footage and add animation to showcase the range of colours that Liniar can provide.  The video was utilised on YouTube as well as being embedded into the Liniar website, across social channels and shared with other B2B clients.

Group Marketing Director Sue Davenport commented, “It was great to work with the Ark Media team – they understood exactly what we needed, and the process went very smoothly indeed.

“When it comes to large construction items such as windows and doors, it’s always a challenge to capture real footage of installed products – especially those produced in different colours to the norm. Animation was the perfect way to get across the message that the whole range can be foiled in practically any colour to suit the homeowner and their project – and we’re delighted with the results!”

Animation explainer video for MoneyInfo

MoneyInfo offer financial software solutions to the financial industry. One of the videos we have created for them is a short animation promoting the MoneyInfo App, its features and why it is a good tool to have.

We have worked with MoneyInfo on many animation projects before, here’s what Oliver Jenkins, their Marketing Manager has to say about working with us.

‘This particular video Ark produced for us was to communicate the benefits of using our client portal mobile app to our end users. Our app allows users to view their entire financial life into a single dashboard view, and we wanted to visualise this to bring the concept to life!

The concept of account aggregation can come across as a bit techy and we felt that some of our prospects switch off when reading about ‘just another fintech company’. Grasping their attention quickly across digital channels such as our website and social media channels is really important. Using animated screenshots, we were able to bring the visuals of our software to life, and tell an engaging and compelling story that viewers would engage with.

The video has been very well received by our clients. It showcases the functionality available in our new client portal app in a simple and easy to digest format which is perfect to communicate what we do in a couple of minutes, and grab visitors’ attention when they land on our website. The video will eventually be rebranded for some of our corporate clients, we already have 3 orders in which has almost paid for the whole project!’
